Job Description

Jordan University College (JUCo) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated academic professionals for two positions of Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer in Information Sciences. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering quality academic instruction, conducting research, supervising students, and participating in consultancy and institutional activities. Responsibilities

• Conduct research, publish scholarly work, and participate in consultancy activities.
• Deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, tests, assignments, and examinations.
• Assess and mark students’ coursework and examinations and submit results within the required timelines.
• Prepare teaching and learning materials for academic programmes.
• Supervise and guide students in research projects and academic assignments.
• Mentor and support junior academic staff on academic and professional matters.
• Participate in departmental, college, and institutional academic activities.
• Organize and participate in departmental, college, and public seminars.
• Contribute to community engagement and outreach programmes.
• Report directly to the Head of Department or designated supervisor.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or reporting officer.

Qualifications

• PhD in Information Sciences or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Master’s Degree in Information Sciences or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 at Bachelor’s degree level.
• Minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s degree level.
• Strong teaching, research, and academic writing skills.
• Ability to supervise students and contribute to scholarly publications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills.
