Agriculture Labour Practice Technician (ALP Technician) – 4 Positions

Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco Limited (MLTL) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Agriculture Labour Practice Technician (ALP Technician). The role focuses on supporting agricultural labour practices, community engagement, farmer training, and monitoring social compliance activities within tobacco farming operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Train farmers and stakeholders on agricultural labour practices.
- Collect farm data and monitor assigned farmers under the supervision of Sector ALP Supervisors.
- Liaise with Sector ALP Supervisors to ensure proper management of prompt actions.
- Collect and track prompt action information recorded through CroMIS and communicate with relevant supervisors.
- Follow up and manage all prompt actions to ensure they are resolved and documented.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of ALP follow-ups and decisions.
- Supervise implementation of activities aimed at achieving programme targets and goals.
- Prepare accurate monthly reports for submission to ALP Supervisors by the 25th of each month.
- Ensure timely weekly reporting of ALP activities at regional level.
- Train Field Technicians on social-related activities.
- Ensure all materials and inputs assigned to ALP programmes are properly recorded and acknowledged by recipients.
- Plan and supervise social activities at area level.
- Liaise with social-related stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Advise GAP Technicians on agricultural labour practices.
- Support planning and implementation of social programmes.
- Work with GAP Technicians on incident reporting, follow-up, and remediation processes.
Job Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- At least a Diploma in Human Resource, Social Community, Public Administration, Sociology, Law, Statistics, or related field.
Experience
- Experience in community, social, or planning activities.
- Experience in extension services and outreach programmes.
- Training experience will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies

Additional Requirements
- Competence in motorbike riding with a valid motorcycle driving license.
- Ability to travel to various project sites.
- Willingness to live and work in remote areas.
Reporting
- The successful candidate will report directly to the ALP Supervisor on day-to-day activities.
