Organization: Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) is inviting applications from qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill the position of Driver II. The successful candidates will provide safe transportation services and ensure proper maintenance and management of assigned vehicles.

Position: Driver II
Number of Positions: 6
Application Period: 19 May 2026 – 1 June 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive vehicles to approved destinations in accordance with traffic regulations
• Undertake minor mechanical repairs
• Take vehicles for routine maintenance and repair at authorized service centers
• Maintain vehicle log books
• Conduct pre-inspection checks before journeys and report mechanical defects or damages
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of vehicles at all times
• Ensure valid permits and documents are available before starting any journey
• Report accidents or incidents involving vehicles to relevant authorities promptly
• Perform other related duties assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:

• Secondary Education Certificate with passes in Kiswahili and English
• Valid Driving License Class C or E
• One-year Basic Driving Certificate from:

  • VETA
  • National Institute of Transport (NIT)

• At least one year of accident-free driving experience
• Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanics is an added advantage
