To coordinate daily underground mining operations by effectively prioritizing resources, machinery, and personnel to achieve production targets in line with the approved mine plan.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure all underground operations are conducted safely and in compliance with mining regulations
• Plan and manage daily production activities
• Supervise and control underground working areas
• Conduct toolbox and daily planning meetings
• Oversee staff induction, training, and performance development
• Submit incident reports and ensure risk mitigation measures
• Coordinate mining activities with other site teams
• Conduct performance appraisals and enforce company discipline policies
• Ensure compliance with statutory and client requirements
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum 10 years’ underground mechanised hard rock mining experience
• At least 5 years in a supervisory role
• Management or leadership development training
• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Strong understanding of drilling and blasting techniques
• Knowledge of mining equipment, mine planning, and productivity optimization
• Sound knowledge of mining regulations and statutory compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and risk assessment skills
