St John’s University of Tanzania invites applications from qualified and competent candidates to fill the following positions:
School of Nursing (SONU)
- Assistant Lecturer (1 Post)
Reports to: Dean, SONU
Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Minimum GPA: 3.5 (Undergraduate) and 4.0 (Master’s)
• Registered by TNMC
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct lectures and tutorials (undergraduate level)
• Participate in research and consultancy
• Assist in supervising student projects
• Mark examinations and supervise practical/field work
• Participate in curriculum development and academic activities
Tenure: 4-year renewable contract

- Tutorial Assistant – Medical Laboratory Technology (2 Posts)
Reports to: Dean, SONU
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Technology
• Minimum GPA: 3.5
• Registered by relevant authority (e.g., MeLSAT)
• Tertiary teaching experience is an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in lectures, seminars and practical sessions
• Support marking, invigilation and research activities
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental services
Tenure: 4-year renewable contract
Salary: As per SJUT Scheme of Service
- Medical Laboratory Technician – MLT (1 Post)
Reports to: Dean, SONU
Qualifications:
• Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or Sciences
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
Key Responsibilities:
• Support laboratory practicals and student projects
• Assist in maintenance and repair of laboratory facilities
• Provide technical laboratory support
Tenure: 4-year renewable contract
Salary: As per SJUT Scheme of Service
Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FaNAS)
- Laboratory Technician – Chemistry (1 Post)
Reports to: Dean, FaNAS
Qualifications:
• Ordinary Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Sciences
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
Key Responsibilities:
• Support chemistry laboratory practicals and research
• Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
• Assist academic staff in laboratory operations
Tenure: 4-year renewable contract
Salary: As per SJUT Scheme of Service
