The organisation empowers youth, women, and local communities to lead locally driven solutions through circular fashion initiatives, eco-friendly livelihoods, environmental education, and climate adaptation programmes. ECCT is currently seeking motivated, proactive, and skilled professionals to join its growing team based in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza (Lake Zone).

1. Communications and Media Officer – Dar es Salaam

Employment Type: Paid Full-Time Internship
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam

Position Summary
The Communications and Media Officer will lead ECCT’s communications and storytelling efforts, managing digital platforms, documenting organisational activities, and amplifying ECCT’s impact to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with ECCT’s mission and goals
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, the website, newsletters, reports, and campaigns
  • Manage and expand ECCT’s digital presence and online engagement
  • Document activities, events, and success stories through written content, photography, and video
  • Support advocacy and fundraising initiatives through compelling storytelling
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all communication materials
  • Manage media relations, including press releases and outreach

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; practical experience is highly valued
  • Proven experience in communications, media, or content creation; NGO experience is an added advantage
  • Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and social media management skills
  • Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, and CapCut
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, creativity, and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong commitment to gender equality, social justice, and youth empowerment

2. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer – Intern – Mwanza

Employment Type: Paid Full-Time Internship
Duty Station: Mwanza (Lake Zone)

Position Summary
The MEL Officer Intern will support monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and learning processes to improve programme quality, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support the implementation of MEL frameworks and data collection tools
  • Collect, verify, and manage both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Monitor project progress, track indicators, and support outcome reporting
  • Conduct field visits and document project activities
  • Maintain organised records for internal use and donor reporting

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of M&E concepts and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field-based settings
  • Commitment to youth empowerment, gender equality, and environmental sustainability

3. Finance and Administration Officer – Dar es Salaam

Employment Type: Full-Time
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam

Position Summary
The Finance and Administration Officer will oversee ECCT’s financial and administrative operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and effective organisational support.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Manage daily financial operations, budgets, and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with organisational policies and statutory requirements
  • Support audits, procurement documentation, and donor financial reporting

Administration

  • Oversee office administration, HR records, and inventory management
  • Coordinate meetings, logistics, and organisational events
  • Support the development and implementation of internal systems, policies, and procedures

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience; NGO experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and financial management tools
  • Strong organisational, record-keeping, and time-management skills
  • High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Strong commitment to youth empowerment, gender equality, and environmental and social justice
