Full Job Description

BRAC Tanzania Finance Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Regional Accounts Manager based in Tabora. The role is suited for candidates with strong financial management, accounting, compliance, and leadership skills who can effectively oversee branch financial operations and ensure adherence to organizational and donor financial policies. The successful candidate will support financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, risk management, and staff supervision across multiple branch locations.

The Regional Accounts Manager will play a key role in strengthening financial systems and ensuring that branch operations comply with BRAC policies, donor requirements, and statutory regulations. The position also involves monitoring financial performance, supporting programme implementation, improving accountability, and promoting safeguarding standards within financial operations.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring branch compliance with financial policies and donor regulations
  • Reviewing financial transactions, reconciliations, and supporting documents
  • Monitoring cash registers, bank reconciliations, and financial records
  • Verifying accuracy of system-generated reports including Binsight and SBI Cloud
  • Supporting resolution of financial system errors and discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with tax and statutory obligations
  • Conducting regular branch monitoring visits and surprise cash counts
  • Reviewing asset registers and inventory management records
  • Identifying financial risks, irregularities, and recommending corrective actions
  • Supporting programme financial planning and implementation
  • Monitoring branch budget utilization and expenditure performance
  • Analyzing budget versus actual expenditure reports
  • Supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) preparation processes
  • Reviewing and consolidating monthly regional financial reports
  • Training, mentoring, and supervising BAOOs and branch finance staff
  • Conducting financial coaching sessions and onboarding support for new employees
  • Identifying staff capacity gaps and recommending relevant training
  • Strengthening branch internal control systems and segregation of duties
  • Supporting audit preparation and implementation of audit recommendations
  • Supporting fraud detection, reporting procedures, and safeguarding compliance
  • Promoting protection against abuse, exploitation, harassment, and misconduct

Candidates applying for this position should possess strong analytical, leadership, and financial management capabilities together with the ability to supervise finance teams operating across multiple locations.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce
  • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in finance and accounting
  • Experience working in NGOs or development programmes is preferred
  • Experience supervising finance staff in multiple branches or locations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management
  • Good understanding of internal controls and compliance procedures
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and reporting skills
  • Experience using financial systems and reporting tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills
  • High integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards
