Full Job Description

Integration Specialist at CRDB Bank is a permanent ICT position based at the Tanzania Head Office within the Department of ICT. Reporting to the Manager: Integration Platforms, the role focuses on supporting, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the bank’s WSO2 integration platform to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing system integrations across banking applications and digital services.

The role is critical in maintaining enterprise integration services that connect core banking systems, APIs, digital channels, and third-party platforms. The successful candidate will manage integration operations, troubleshoot system issues, support API deployments, and ensure high availability and performance of middleware services within the bank’s technology environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring WSO2 components including Enterprise Integrator, API Manager, Micro Integrator, and API Gateway
  • Ensuring high availability and reliability of integration services and APIs
  • Monitoring message flows, system health, and integration performance
  • Identifying and resolving integration bottlenecks, failures, and operational issues
  • Managing incidents, service requests, and problem tickets related to ESB and middleware operations
  • Performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes
  • Coordinating with application teams, infrastructure teams, network teams, and vendors
  • Ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Supporting deployment and configuration of APIs, services, and integrations
  • Troubleshooting mediation logic, routing, and transformation issues
  • Validating XML and JSON payloads and integration flows
  • Supporting API security implementation including OAuth2, SSL, and API security policies
  • Assisting developers during testing, UAT, and production deployments
  • Performing routine maintenance, patching, backups, and system optimization
  • Managing queues, logs, connectors, and service endpoints
  • Implementing scalability and high-availability configurations
  • Maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in middleware or ESB support using WSO2 platforms
  • Experience in enterprise environments such as banking, telecom, fintech, or government institutions is an added advantage
  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • WSO2 Enterprise Integrator / Micro Integrator
    • WSO2 API Manager
    • WSO2 API Gateway

  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services
  • Understanding of messaging protocols including HTTP/S, JMS, and MQ
  • Proficiency in XML, JSON, and XSLT data formats
  • Experience in data mapping and transformation logic
  • Linux/Unix administration skills
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as ELK Stack or Grafana
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git
  • WSO2 Certified Developer or Integration Professional certification
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Cloud certifications such as Azure or AWS are an added advantage
