Full Job Description
Business Analyst at CRDB Bank is a one-year contract position based at the Tanzania Head Office within the Project Management Office (PMO) Unit. Reporting to the Senior Manager: Project Governance & Reporting, the role focuses on supporting IT and Digital Transformation projects by ensuring that business requirements, operational processes, and technical solutions are aligned to organizational objectives and measurable business value.
The Business Analyst serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and financial performance. The role requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder management, business process analysis, and project governance understanding within banking or financial services environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Eliciting, analysing, documenting, and validating business, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Ensuring requirements traceability from strategic objectives through implementation and value realization
- Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and delivery partners
- Analysing current business processes (AS-IS) and designing improved future-state processes (TO-BE)
- Supporting development and validation of business cases including costs, risks, assumptions, and benefits
- Establishing and maintaining benefits registers, ROI tracking, and performance KPIs
- Managing scope control, change requests, and requirements traceability
- Assessing business impact and governance implications of project changes
- Supporting solution development, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Clarifying requirements and supporting issue and defect resolution
- Monitoring project risks, delays, and deviations related to benefits realization
- Providing data-driven recommendations through PMO governance structures
- Supporting change management, user training, operational handover, and post-implementation reviews
- Preparing dashboards, governance reports, and management updates for decision-making and audit readiness
- Supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Business Analysis, preferably within banking or financial services
- Professional certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or Risk Management is an added advantage
- Broad understanding of project management principles
- Knowledge of banking products, banking systems, and business processes
- Understanding of systems communication protocols
- Familiarity with Business Analysis frameworks such as BABOK
- Experience using process modelling tools and methodologies such as Visio and BPMN
- Strong performance analysis and reporting skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills
- High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset
