Inventory Specialist at Shanta Mining Company Limited

Shanta Mining Company Limited is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Inventory Specialist at New Luika Gold Mine in Singida. This full-time opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong inventory management, stores control, and ERP system experience within industrial environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, coordinating material requirements, managing stock accuracy, preparing inventory reports, and ensuring all inventory operations comply with the company’s safety, health, environmental, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels, replenishment, and re-order requirements for critical and fast-moving materials.

• Minimize redundant, obsolete, and excess stock while ensuring adequate material availability.

  

• Plan and coordinate stock counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.

• Reconcile inventory variances and process approved stock adjustments.

  

• Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) reconciliations and purchase requisitions.

• Maintain accurate inventory master data and stock classifications in Syspro.

  

• Review requests for new stock introductions and monitor historical stock movements.

• Coordinate Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) with departments and end users.

  

• Participate in underground and process plant production meetings to address inventory requirements.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

• Provide inventory analysis to support operational and stock management decisions.

• Supervise, train, and develop inventory personnel.

• Manage available manpower effectively within the inventory function.

• Ensure compliance with company safety, health, environmental, and asset protection requirements.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement and Supplies, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in inventory management or inventory control.

• Experience in the mining or construction industry is an added advantage.

• Strong understanding of stores management, procurement, inventory systems, and finance processes.

• Sound knowledge of material movement systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to build effective working relationships across departments.

• Experience using Syspro or a similar ERP or inventory management system is an added advantage.

• High standards of honesty, integrity, accountability, and teamwork.
