Distribution Driver

Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd is looking for qualified and experienced drivers to join its distribution operations in Dar es Salaam and Mbeya. The successful candidates will support both primary and secondary distribution by transporting products between manufacturing plants, distribution centres, local distribution partners, and customers.

The role involves much more than driving. Distribution Drivers will be responsible for the safe handling of trucks, stock, pallets, cash, delivery documents and mobile equipment while ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time. Candidates should have strong logistics awareness, relevant truck-driving experience, a clean driving record and the ability to work according to assigned shifts.

Responsibilities

• Transport bulk stock between manufacturing plants, distribution centres, local distribution partners and OCCDs.

• Deliver stock to direct-delivery customers and OCCDs.

  

• Provide professional and efficient customer service to internal and external customers.

• Collect and handle customer payments.

  

• Ensure all collected cash is properly banked and settled without shortages.

• Prepare and compile required invoices and ensure delivery documents are complete and accurate.

  

• Take full responsibility for the allocated truck, mobile device, stock and pallets.

• Coordinate the receipt and handling of customer invoices.

  

• Conduct accurate daily stock counts.

• Comply with all required security checks and procedures.

• Manage and supervise the crew assigned to the truck.

• Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations.

• Comply with company safety standards and help maintain a zero-fatality environment.

• Settle loads after every delivery.

• Support efficient primary and secondary distribution operations.

• Handle distribution equipment and technology used for monitoring and delivery activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• VETA Driving Certificate.

• Form IV secondary education.

• A valid and applicable driving licence with at least 3 years of validity/experience as specified in the advert.

• At least 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record.

• Previous distribution driving experience with a haulier.

• Willingness to work fixed shifts according to assigned working times and days.

• Awareness of logistics processes.

• Understanding of the relationship between distribution and warehouse operations.

• Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding.

• Knowledge of equipment handling.

• Ability to properly care for trucks, stock and other assigned assets.

• Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) used in distribution.

• Knowledge of distribution route planning and optimisation systems.

• Ability to operate mobile devices, cab cameras and satellite tracking systems.

• Strong attention to safety, accountability and delivery accuracy.
