Fuel Station Manager

Sango Energy is seeking a Fuel Station Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a fuel station in Tanga. The position involves managing fuel sales, convenience-store activities, inventory, cash handling, customer service, staff performance, and overall station profitability.

The successful candidate will be expected to combine commercial management with strong operational control. In addition, the manager must ensure accurate financial reconciliation, proper fuel-stock monitoring, compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, and effective supervision of station employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fuel station operations, including fuel dispensing and retail sales.

• Manage convenience-store operations and other auxiliary services.

  

• Implement marketing and commercial initiatives to increase fuel sales and retail turnover.

• Develop strategies to improve customer retention.

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and physical security across the station.

• Monitor fuel deliveries and conduct quality checks.

• Track fuel stock dips to identify and prevent losses or contamination.

• Manage fuel and retail inventory levels.

• Ensure timely replenishment of fuel and retail products.

• Handle daily cash collections and banking procedures.

• Conduct till reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational, sales, and financial reports.

• Prepare staff shift schedules.

• Monitor employee performance and provide continuous training.

• Motivate and lead station attendants and other staff.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and HSE regulations.

• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.

• Monitor station profitability and operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing a fuel station.

• Strong marketing and promotional experience in fuel retail or commercial trade.

• Excellent team-management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good knowledge of HSE regulations.

• Strong understanding of inventory control.

• Knowledge of cash handling and financial reconciliation.

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
