Forklift Mechanic

Bonite Bottlers Ltd is seeking a qualified Forklift Mechanic to join its team in Moshi, Kilimanjaro. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing forklift faults and carrying out routine maintenance to keep material-handling equipment safe, reliable, and operational.

The position focuses particularly on forklift hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems. It is suitable for candidates with technical training in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or Machinery Mechanics from VETA or a recognized college, together with at least one year of practical forklift maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and technical faults in forklifts.

• Perform routine maintenance on forklifts.

  

• Inspect forklift systems to identify faults and maintenance requirements.

• Maintain and service forklift hydraulic systems.

• Inspect and maintain forklift electrical systems.

• Maintain and service forklift engine systems.

• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related problems.

• Carry out corrective maintenance when faults are identified.

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure forklifts remain operational.

• Report major faults and maintenance requirements to the relevant supervisor.

• Follow established maintenance and workshop procedures.

• Ensure maintenance work is performed accurately and safely.

• Keep assigned equipment in good working condition.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or Machinery Mechanics from VETA or a recognized college.

• At least 1 year of experience in forklift maintenance.

• Knowledge of forklift hydraulic systems.

• Knowledge of forklift electrical systems.

• Knowledge of forklift engine systems.

• Ability to diagnose forklift faults.

• Ability to perform routine forklift maintenance.

• Practical troubleshooting skills.

• Attention to detail when inspecting and repairing equipment.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Ability to work without close supervision.

• Ability to work responsibly and maintain equipment safely.
