TPC Ltd is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Laboratory Analyst in Kilimanjaro. The role involves carrying out laboratory testing and analysis across sugar production, distillery, and water treatment processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and preparing samples, conducting chemical and physical analyses, and ensuring laboratory results are accurately recorded and reported.

The position is particularly suitable for laboratory professionals with training in laboratory technology, chemistry, biology, food technology, or chemical engineering. Experience in sugar production, distillery operations, water treatment, or food processing will provide an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from sugar production, distillery, and water treatment processes.

• Prepare samples for laboratory analysis.

  

• Conduct chemical analyses according to established laboratory procedures.

• Perform physical analyses and accurately record test results.

• Ensure laboratory results are complete, accurate, and properly documented.

• Immediately report out-of-specification results to the supervisor.

• Calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment as required.

• Maintain laboratory equipment in proper working condition.

• Keep the laboratory clean and organized.

• Follow established laboratory safety procedures.

• Comply with quality-control and quality-assurance requirements.

• Follow applicable food-safety procedures and standards.

• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.

• Handle laboratory samples carefully to maintain the reliability and integrity of test results.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificate in Laboratory Technology; or

• Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in the sugar industry is an added advantage.

• Experience in distillery operations is an added advantage.

• Experience in water treatment is an added advantage.

• Experience in food-processing industries is an added advantage.

• Strong attention to detail when collecting, handling, and preparing samples.

• Good accuracy in laboratory testing and analysis.

• Ability to maintain clear and reliable laboratory records.

• Understanding of laboratory safety and quality procedures.

• Ability to identify and promptly report abnormal or out-of-specification results.

• Ability to work carefully and consistently in a production laboratory environment.
