Plumber Job at The Residence Zanzibar

The Residence Zanzibar is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to support its resort maintenance operations in Zanzibar. The role focuses on maintaining reliable plumbing systems, fixtures, equipment, and water-related infrastructure to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the resort.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for operating and monitoring the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), conducting inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to plumbing faults. This opportunity is suitable for candidates with practical plumbing and STP experience who understand workplace safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment.

• Operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

  

• Ensure efficient performance of the resort’s water and sewage systems.

• Conduct routine plumbing and equipment inspections.

• Carry out preventive maintenance activities.

• Identify plumbing and equipment faults and perform basic troubleshooting.

• Support corrective maintenance activities.

• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.

• Report system performance and identified issues.

• Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.

• Follow workplace safety procedures and environmental requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing, Water Treatment, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing maintenance.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating or maintaining a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

• Knowledge and practical ability to perform plumbing repairs.

• Ability to carry out maintenance activities.

• Ability to inspect plumbing and related equipment.

• Basic fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.

• Understanding of workplace safety procedures.

• Knowledge of environmental regulations and requirements.

• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
