The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics activities, and warehouse personnel to ensure the efficient storage, movement, and delivery of spare parts and consumables. The role also supports Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) operations, inventory planning, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer productivity, operational reliability, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations and ensure efficient warehouse service delivery
  • Coordinate warehouse staff and oversee daily operational activities
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse management policies, standards, and procedures
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping, organization, and maintenance standards
  • Supervise periodic stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory verification exercises
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and ensure adequate stock availability
  • Verify that correct quantities of spare parts and tools are received
  • Inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping documentation
  • Conduct audits to identify damaged goods, incorrect items, under shipments, and over shipments
  • Ensure all received goods are accurately recorded in the inventory management system
  • Ensure inventory is stored in designated warehouse bin locations
  • Monitor and improve inventory control processes and stock accuracy
  • Supervise the receipt, storage, dispatch, and return of materials
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and spare parts to customers
  • Improve inventory availability and warehouse fill rates
  • Coordinate inventory replenishment and stock planning activities
  • Develop and maintain proactive customer relationships
  • Contribute to improved customer productivity, operational reliability, and business performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory management and service delivery solutions
  • Maximize business opportunities within the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) environment
  • Coordinate inventory improvement initiatives with the Warehouse Operations Manager
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse operations and inventory management
  • Collaborate with customers and operational teams to enhance warehouse performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Adhere to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements
  • Promote a safe working environment and support operational excellence initiatives

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Aurora or similar enterprise platforms
  • Experience handling customer complaints and service requests
  • Experience in the mining industry or a related sector is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management and inventory control principles
  • Good understanding of logistics coordination and supply chain operations
  • Experience in stock planning and inventory replenishment processes
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a good command of English
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of accountability and professionalism
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing work environments
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Customer-focused approach with strong relationship management skills
  • Physically fit to work in a mining environment
  • Medically fit in accordance with site requirements
  • Able to meet customer vaccination and site-entry requirements where applicable
