Job Description

GEOFIELDS (T) LIMITED is a mining services company operating in Tanzania’s gold mining sector, particularly within Geita. The company is involved in underground mining support operations, focusing on safe, efficient, and productive extraction activities using mechanised mining equipment and established safety systems.

The Underground Bogger Operator role is a critical production position in underground mining operations. It involves operating heavy machinery to load and move broken rock (ore and waste), maintaining underground working areas, and supporting safe and efficient mining cycles in a mechanised underground environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and instructions
• Correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices at all times
• Report hazardous situations, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly
• Take action to eliminate or control workplace hazards
• Bog development headings and stockpiles into underground haulage trucks
• Maintain separation of ore, low-grade, marginal, and waste materials
• Clean and bog mining faces to prepare them for the next production cycle
• Perform auxiliary tasks such as hosing down, scaling, and marking up butts when required
• Maintain underground roads in safe and usable condition
• Minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency

Qualification required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in underground mining operations
• Experience in mechanised underground mining environments
• Proven operation of underground haulage equipment (especially Sandvik 621 Loaders)
• Strong knowledge of underground mining practices and loader operations
• Commitment to workplace safety and safe work procedures
• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence with good driving ability
• Basic First Aid certification
• Secondary school education completed
• Basic numeracy skills
• Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
• Flexibility to perform varied underground mining tasks
