AngloGold Ashanti through Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML), Tanzania’s leading gold producer, is inviting applications from ambitious, energetic, and performance-driven individuals to fill the position below at Geita Gold Mine.

Position: Technician 3 – Exploration
Department: Geology/Exploration
Location: Geita Gold Mine, Geita
Employment Type: Full Time
Number of Positions: Two (2)

The successful candidates will support geologists with drill core cutting, marking, orientation, geological logging, data validation, and leadership support at the Core Shed to ensure operational targets are achieved efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-start meetings and toolbox talks
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and procedures
• Coordinate daily Core Shed activities and enforce SOPs
• Perform lithological, structural, and geotechnical logging of drill cores
• Validate core cutting, marking, and orientation quality
• Ensure accurate data capture and QA/QC processes
• Prepare and hand over samples for laboratory submission
• Coach and train Technician 1 and 2 team members
• Support supervision of Core Shed shift teams
• Identify process gaps and assist in SOP improvements
• Participate in field geological activities including drilling, mapping, and surveys when required

Qualifications

• Diploma in Geology or related Geoscience field
• Secondary School Certificate holders with extensive relevant experience may also apply

Experience and Skills

• More than 5 years of experience for Diploma holders
• More than 10 years of experience for Secondary School Certificate holders
• Experience in exploration drilling, geotechnical logging, and sampling
• Computer literacy in MS Excel and MS Word
• Strong QA/QC and data reconciliation skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong commitment to HSE standards
• Valid Tanzanian driving license
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Tanzanian citizenship required
