Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for the position of Senior Pan Boiler. The successful candidates will report to the Manufacturing Chemist and will be responsible for overseeing and executing sugar pan boiling operations to ensure efficient crystallization and high-quality sugar production within the factory.

The role requires strong technical expertise in sugar boiling processes, vacuum pan operations, and process control to ensure consistent production performance, optimal recovery rates, and compliance with quality standards. The selected candidates will also supervise junior staff and coordinate pan house activities in line with production requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Supervising and guiding pan boiling technicians in proper boiling procedures and practices
• Operating and monitoring vacuum pans for effective sugar crystallization
• Ensuring correct seeding, graining, and massecuite boiling parameters
• Controlling syrup feed, temperature, vacuum levels, and boiling curves for each batch
• Monitoring brix, purity, and crystal growth to achieve required sugar quality
• Coordinating A, B, and C strike boiling cycles based on production targets
• Ensuring efficient operation of vacuum pumps, condensers, and heating systems
• Collaborating with laboratory and control room teams to adjust process variables
• Maintaining accurate records of boiling cycles, massecuite quality, and pan performance
• Training and mentoring junior pan boiling staff
• Identifying and reporting process deviations and equipment issues
• Participating in daily production planning and coordination with milling and centrifuge operations
• Ensuring hygiene and sanitation of pan boiling stations and related equipment
• Complying with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards
• Participating in shutdown and maintenance activities of pan house equipment
• Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and requirements:

• Form IV certificate or higher qualification
• Minimum of six (6) years working experience in sugar pan boiling operations
• Possession of National Sugar Institute (NSI) Certificate will be an added advantage
• Strong understanding of sugar crystallization and vacuum pan operations
• Ability to monitor and control process variables for optimal production
• Good leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in industrial environments under pressure
