Job Description
The Hannah Bennie School (HBS) was never founded as a profit-driven venture. It was established to address a pressing need within Kigamboni, where families sought access to a high-quality English-medium education close to home. The school is seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years Education professional to join its team and provide leadership in delivering high-quality nursery and pre-primary education.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of a stimulating early-years curriculum aligned with MoEST pre-primary guidelines
- Mentor, supervise, and support junior nursery teachers and teaching assistants
- Design and implement thematic learning activities that promote literacy, numeracy, motor, social, and emotional development
- Assess and document children’s developmental progress and provide regular feedback to parents
- Maintain a safe, clean, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment
- Coordinate parent engagement activities and early-years assessments
- Uphold safeguarding standards, child protection policies, and TSC code of conduct at all times
Qualification Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Registration with the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC)
- At least five years of nursery or pre-primary teaching experience, including a minimum of two years in a leadership role
- Warm, patient, and child-friendly personality
- Basic to intermediate computer skills for lesson planning, reporting, and communication with parents
