Quality Assurance Analyst
Job Description

NBC Tanzania is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support the delivery of high-quality technology solutions through comprehensive software testing and quality assurance processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating applications against functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, and supporting successful user acceptance testing (UAT) and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive testing of developed applications against functional and non-functional requirements
- Validate application performance, reliability, and basic security requirements
- Develop and execute detailed test cases, test scripts, and testing scenarios
- Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) readiness
- Conduct end-to-end integration testing to ensure seamless interaction between systems and interfaces
- Verify that all application deliverables are fit for purpose before handover for business UAT
- Conduct and support performance and load testing to validate system scalability and reliability under expected and peak workloads
- Assist with stress testing activities where required
- Identify, document, log, track, and retest software defects throughout the testing lifecycle
- Ensure timely identification and proper documentation of issues and defects
- Collaborate with developers to facilitate timely defect resolution and verification
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, methodologies, and best practices
- Maintain comprehensive test documentation, test artefacts, and audit trails
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and business users throughout the software development lifecycle
- Provide regular testing progress updates and quality assurance reports
- Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, test coverage, and defect detection effectiveness
- Support the introduction of test automation and other quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in software quality assurance or application testing
- Experience in functional testing and system integration testing
- Experience using defect management and defect tracking tools
- Exposure to performance and load testing methodologies
- Experience working with banking systems is an added advantage
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to design, develop, and execute functional and integration test cases
- Basic knowledge of performance, load, and stress testing concepts
- Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving software defects
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance standards
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet testing deadlines
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional project teams
