Job Description
Kitengule Hospital is seeking a qualified and compassionate Pediatrician to join its medical team in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will provide specialized healthcare services to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents while contributing to the hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality pediatric care. The role involves diagnosing and managing a wide range of pediatric conditions, participating in multidisciplinary patient care, and supporting continuous improvement in clinical practice.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of pediatric medical conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Provide comprehensive healthcare services to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
- Conduct pediatric consultations, clinical assessments, and follow-up reviews.
- Manage pediatric emergencies and coordinate referrals when specialized care is required.
- Utilize laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic services to support clinical decision-making.
- Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team discussions, and patient management meetings.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient medical records and clinical reports.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous medical education programs.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior medical staff where appropriate.
- Perform other duties assigned by hospital management within the scope of professional competence.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
- Master’s Degree in Pediatrics and Child Health or an equivalent specialist qualification.
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
- Current practicing license.
- Minimum of one (1) year of post-specialization clinical experience in pediatric practice.
- Strong clinical knowledge in the diagnosis and management of pediatric conditions.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality healthcare, and professional ethics.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work scheduled clinics, ward rounds, emergency calls, weekends, and public holidays.
