Job Description

A reputable manufacturing company in Morogoro, Tanzania, is inviting applications from motivated and hardworking individuals for the position of Packing Attendant. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring smooth packing operations by maintaining packing materials, supporting machine operations, and upholding high standards of product quality, food safety, and workplace cleanliness. Responsibilities

• Collect and ensure the availability of packing materials to avoid machine downtime.
• Replace and change reels on packing machines as required.
• Change and replace machine tapes to ensure proper sealing.
• Replace machine rubber components when necessary.
• Remove machine jaws for servicing when required.
• Ensure sugar is packed according to required colour and moisture standards.
• Inspect packets and bags to ensure they are free from defects.
• Set batch printers at the beginning of each shift to ensure correct batch number printing.
• Ensure batch numbers are clearly visible on all packed products.
• Report printing issues immediately to machine operators for corrective action.
• Assist during machine breakdowns and support machine operation activities.
• Maintain cleanliness in machine areas and ensure housekeeping and 5S standards are observed.
• Ensure defective packets and bags are downgraded or rejected as required.
• Melt rejected sugar when necessary.
• Report sugar quality and food safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
• Assist with basic maintenance activities to maximize operational efficiency.
• Report machine breakdowns to operators immediately.
• Adhere to company quality, safety, health, and environmental procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned within the plant or section.

Qualifications

• Form Four education or higher.
• Technical certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field will be an added advantage.
• Previous experience in packing or packing station operations will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) compliance is an added advantage.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Commitment to safety, quality, and food hygiene standards.
