Job Description

Hannah Bennie School (HBS) was established to provide children in Kigamboni with access to high-quality English-medium education close to home. As the institution continues to grow, maintaining a safe, secure, and well-managed environment for students, staff, and visitors remains a core priority across all its campuses and facilities.

To strengthen its security operations, HBS is seeking an experienced and disciplined Security Supervisor to oversee all guarding and site protection activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the security team, enforcing safety procedures, coordinating incident response, and ensuring effective integration of physical and electronic security systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deploy, and supervise security guarding teams across all school sites and shifts
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security SOPs, post orders, patrol schedules, and emergency response procedures
  • Coordinate with Police, fire services, and other relevant authorities during incidents, emergencies, and investigations
  • Manage access control systems, visitor management processes, key control procedures, and incident reporting systems
  • Conduct recruitment, vetting, training, and performance management of security guards and shift supervisors
  • Oversee integration of physical guarding with CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, and electronic security infrastructure
  • Monitor security risks and implement preventive measures to enhance overall safety
  • Investigate security incidents and prepare detailed incident, risk, and performance reports for management
  • Ensure compliance with institutional safety policies and national security regulations
  • Supervise guard conduct and enforce discipline, professionalism, and adherence to procedures
  • Provide regular security briefings and updates to management

Qualification Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field
  • Background in the Police Force, Military Service, or a licensed private security organization is strongly preferred
  • At least five years of experience in security operations, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong understanding of Tanzanian security regulations, labour laws, and safety standards
  • Experience in access control systems, CCTV integration, and electronic security systems
  • Strong leadership, crisis management, and decision-making abilities
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and security reporting systems
  • High level of discipline, integrity, and situational awareness
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
