The Hostess position within the Food & Beverage department is a customer-facing role responsible for creating positive first impressions for guests visiting the hotel’s restaurants and dining facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in welcoming guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring smooth dining operations to enhance overall guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities
The Hostess will be responsible for providing excellent customer service by warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring efficient seating arrangements. The role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to coordinate effectively with restaurant staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

  • Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival at the restaurant
  • Manage table reservations and seating arrangements to optimize guest flow
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide relevant information about the dining experience
  • Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and courteously
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure guests receive prompt and attentive service
  • Maintain reservation records and update guest information accurately
  • Assist in managing waiting lists during busy service periods
  • Ensure reception and waiting areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Uphold the hotel’s customer service standards and hospitality procedures at all times

Qualification

Candidates applying for this role should possess relevant academic qualifications and experience in hospitality or customer service environments. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or professional qualification related to Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a reputable hotel, lodge, restaurant, or hospitality establishment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and procedures
  • Fluency in English language communication
  • Knowledge of additional languages will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with reservation systems will be an added advantage
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
