Asante Africa Foundation
Finance & Administration Manager
Job Description
The Finance & Administration Manager role at Asante Africa Foundation is a mid-to-senior level operations finance position responsible for ensuring strong financial control, compliance, and administrative efficiency within the Tanzania office. The role supports program delivery by making sure all funds, budgets, reporting systems, and internal processes are accurate, transparent, and aligned with both Tanzanian regulations and donor requirements.
In practical terms, this is a “backbone” role that keeps the organization financially stable and audit-ready. You are responsible for managing budgeting cycles, financial reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting while also overseeing administrative systems such as asset management and office operations. Because the organization works with donors, a large part of the job involves strict compliance, reporting accuracy, and ensuring funds are properly tracked and justified.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage accounting functions including budgeting, cash flow tracking, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
- Oversee payroll processing, staff reimbursements, and financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian financial laws, tax requirements, and donor funding rules.
- Manage assets, office administration, and internal financial controls.
- Produce regular financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Support donor reporting and ensure funds are used according to project agreements.
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Navision.
- Coordinate external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Support general operational efficiency across finance and administration functions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA-T, ACCA, or equivalent).
- 3–5 years of experience in finance and administration roles.
- Experience working in NGOs, INGOs, or donor-funded environments.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Navision).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
In summary, this role combines accounting, compliance, and office administration in a donor-funded NGO environment, requiring strong financial discipline and high attention to reporting accuracy.
