Standard Bank Group is seeking a proactive and results-driven Direct Sales Agent to support customer acquisition, onboarding, and revenue growth through direct engagement with prospective clients. The role focuses on promoting banking products and services, developing customer relationships, and achieving assigned sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source, engage, and acquire new customers through field visits, referrals, networking, and cold calling.
  • Promote and sell banking products and services including accounts, loans, deposits, insurance, and cards.
  • Conduct product presentations and explain product features and benefits to customers.
  • Assist customers with account opening documentation in compliance with KYC and regulatory requirements.
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Represent the bank professionally during all customer interactions.
  • Identify and follow up on new business opportunities to increase market share.
  • Market Personal Banking products and provide product information to customers.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure their needs are met and provide additional support where required.
  • Successfully hand over customer relationships to Personal Bankers, Branch Managers, and Business Development Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all service level agreements and operational procedures.
  • Attend to customer, branch, and credit-related inquiries promptly.
  • Conduct needs analysis to identify customer requirements and recommend suitable banking products.

Job Requirements

Education

  • First Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of banking products and customer service processes.
  • Understanding of bookkeeping and financial record reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of data management and records administration.
