TUTOR – MEDICAL DOCTOR
CHATO COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (CCOHEST)
Job Title: Tutor – Medical Doctor
Department: Academic Department
Duty Station: Chato College of Health Science and Technology – Chato, Geita
Reports To: Human Resource

JOB PURPOSE
To provide quality teaching, training, mentorship, clinical instruction, research support, and academic supervision to diploma students in health-related programs in accordance with NACTVET and Ministry of Health guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To teach diploma students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
2. To prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, teaching notes, examinations, and other learning materials.
3. To conduct lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and clinical demonstrations for students.
4. To supervise students during clinical rotations and field practical training.
5. To assess students through assignments, tests, practical assessments, and examinations.
6. To maintain proper academic records including attendance, assessment records, and students’ progress reports.
7. To participate in curriculum implementation and academic development activities.
8. To provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
9. To ensure compliance with standards and regulations issued by NACTVET, Ministry of Health, and other relevant authorities.
10. To participate in research, community outreach, and professional development activities.
11. To attend departmental meetings, academic meetings, and other institutional activities.
12. To perform any other duties assigned by the College Management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Holder of Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
2. Must be registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
3. Possession of a valid practicing license will be an added advantage.
4. Teaching experience in health training institutions will be an added advantage.
5. Ability to teach diploma students effectively.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Computer literacy is required.
