VisionFund International is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the position of Resource Development & Management Advisor within its Africa Region operations.
Position: Resource Development & Management Advisor
Locations: Arusha (Tanzania), Kigali (Rwanda), Dakar (Senegal), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Freetown (Sierra Leone), and other regional locations
Employment Type: Full Time
VisionFund International is the microfinance provider of World Vision, supporting vulnerable communities through financial inclusion, loans, savings, and insurance services aimed at ending intergenerational poverty.
The successful candidate will lead funding acquisition and grant management activities across the Africa region, manage donor relationships, oversee compliance and reporting, and support funding and project management capacity building within regional MFIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead grant acquisition and funding management activities
- Manage proposal development and donor funding opportunities
- Research and assess funding organizations and partnership opportunities
- Develop and manage regional funding pipelines
- Coordinate proposal development teams and submission processes
- Provide technical support and capacity building on grants management
- Build and manage relationships with donors and World Vision offices
- Attend sector forums and networking events to identify funding opportunities
- Monitor donor-funded projects and ensure compliance requirements are met
- Support high-quality technical and financial reporting
- Ensure contracts are reviewed and risks properly managed
- Strengthen systems for project monitoring and financial reporting
- Contribute to grants management processes and proposal content libraries
- Support evaluation, impact reporting, and best practice documentation
Qualifications
- University Degree in International Development, International Relations, Marketing, Economics, or related field
- Master’s Degree or Grants qualification is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in grant acquisition, fundraising, or corporate management
- Experience working in development and grants management environments
- Experience in financial inclusion or microfinance sector is an added advantage
- International development or humanitarian experience preferred

- Strategic problem-solving abilities
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- French language skills are desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
- Cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%, including fragile and remote regions
