MSF is currently inviting applications for the Cook (Pool Position) to support kitchen and food preparation services.

Main Purpose
The Cook will be responsible for preparing meals for patients and MSF staff while ensuring high standards of food hygiene and safety. The role supports the nutritional needs of staff and patients in accordance with MSF procedures and security guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily meals for staff and patients.
- Follow all hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels and prepare shopping lists when supplies are running low.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
- Set tables before meals and clean them after use when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen facilities, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure availability of safe drinking water during the day.
- Maintain and protect all kitchen equipment provided by MSF.
- Keep an inventory of kitchen utensils and equipment such as plates, glasses, cutlery, and cookware.
- Report any loss, damage, theft, or incidents related to kitchen equipment or operations.
Minimum Educational Qualification
- Basic literacy is essential
- Cooking course or training is desirable
Experience
- Previous experience working as a cook is desirable.
Language Requirements
- Swahili: Essential
- English: Basic spoken and written knowledge desirable
