Farm of Dreams Lodge is a hospitality establishment located in Karatu, Tanzania, dedicated to providing high-quality accommodation, dining, and customer service experiences to guests from around the world. The lodge maintains high standards of hospitality, professionalism, hygiene, and guest satisfaction within a welcoming environment. As part of strengthening its food and beverage service team, the lodge is seeking to recruit qualified and customer-oriented individuals for the position of Waiter/Waitress.

The Waiter/Waitress will be responsible for providing professional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring excellent customer experience, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and supporting efficient restaurant operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing tables by arranging linens, silverware, glasses, and other dining materials.
  • Ensuring proper grooming, neat dressing, and wearing of identification badges while on duty.
  • Greeting customers warmly and escorting them to their assigned tables.
  • Presenting menus and providing detailed information regarding meals, ingredients, beverages, and allergy-related concerns.
  • Informing guests about daily specials and promotional menu items.
  • Providing menu recommendations and assisting guests in making meal selections.
  • Upselling additional products and services where appropriate.
  • Taking accurate food and beverage orders using designated ordering systems or notepads.
  • Verifying that customers meet the minimum age requirements for alcoholic beverages where applicable.
  • Coordinating effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
  • Serving food and drinks professionally while maintaining excellent customer care standards.
  • Clearing used dishes, utensils, and tableware for cleaning.
  • Delivering bills to customers and collecting payments accurately.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by management.

Qualification and Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • A Certificate or Diploma in Hotel Management or a related hospitality field.
  • Hands-on experience using cash registers and food ordering systems.
  • Bar and barista skills will be considered an added advantage.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attentiveness, patience, and professionalism when dealing with customers.
  • High standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within a team environment.
  • Age between 25 and 35 years.
