Farm of Dreams Lodge is a hospitality establishment located in Karatu, Tanzania, committed to delivering exceptional accommodation, dining, and guest services within a comfortable and well-maintained environment. The lodge emphasizes operational efficiency, safety, and high standards of facility maintenance to ensure a quality experience for guests and staff. As part of strengthening its maintenance operations, the lodge is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Maintenance Officer.
The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for supervising maintenance activities, ensuring proper functioning of lodge facilities and equipment, maintaining safety standards, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations across the lodge.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting daily inspections of the lodge to ensure all facilities meet safety and operational standards.
- Supervising and coordinating all maintenance activities within the lodge premises.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce maintenance and operational costs.
- Reporting all maintenance issues and technical concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Arranging and overseeing routine maintenance for lodge rooms, kitchens, offices, swimming pools, and other facilities.
- Ensuring all company equipment and properties, including generators, laundry machines, and water pumps, are properly maintained and functioning effectively.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Monitoring maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies inventory.
- Maintaining and servicing swimming pools to ensure cleanliness and operational safety.
- Keeping accurate maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation.
- Preparing and submitting daily maintenance reports to management.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Performing any other duties assigned by management.
Qualification and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance activities.
- A Certificate or Diploma in Maintenance from VETA or another recognized institution.
- Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably within a lodge, hotel, or hospitality environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including 3-phase electrical systems.
- Knowledge and experience in plumbing systems and maintenance.
- Familiarity with operation and maintenance of generators, water pumps, laundry machines, and related equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Age between 25 and 40 years.
