Farm of Dreams Lodge is a hospitality establishment located in Karatu, Tanzania, offering high-quality accommodation and dining experiences to both local and international guests. The lodge is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, quality cuisine, and memorable guest experiences within a professional and welcoming environment. As part of strengthening its kitchen operations, the lodge is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Cook.

The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for lodge guests while ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of meals for lodge guests, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meet the standards of the lodge.
  • Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety at all times.
  • Managing food stock and storage while minimizing wastage.
  • Assisting in menu planning and food purchasing activities when required.
  • Working closely with lodge management to accommodate guest dietary requirements and special meal requests.
  • Monitoring kitchen supplies and reporting shortages or operational needs.
  • Ensuring proper handling and storage of food items in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by lodge management.

Qualification and Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a lodge, hotel, restaurant, or related hospitality establishment.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience cooking in a well-established restaurant or hotel.
  • Knowledge of local and international cuisine will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within a team environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Relevant culinary training or professional certification will be an added advantage.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
