Full Job Description
Said Salim Bakhresa & Co. Ltd is seeking to recruit one qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join the team at Azam Inland Container Depot (AICD) in Dar es Salaam. The company is looking for a competent professional who will support financial operations, accounting processes, and inventory control activities within the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling vendor payments, maintaining financial records, supporting stock control activities, resolving payment discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulations. This opportunity is open to Tanzanian nationals only, and interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline of 25 May 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and on time
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, cheques, and other vendor payments
- Create and manage Freight Orders (FO) and Forwarding Order & Settlement Documents (FWSD)
- Maintain proper financial records and ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations
- Support stock taking and inventory control for AICD machinery spare parts and related materials
- Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable functions
- Experience in Logistics, Transport, Shipping, ICD, or related operations will be an added advantage
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
