Tanzania Library Services Board (TLSB) is inviting applications from qualified and competent professionals to fill the position of Tutor II in Library and Information Management. The role supports academic training, curriculum development, and capacity building in library and information services.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Assisting in the design of course programs within the area of competence and submitting them for approval
Reviewing course content and reference materials for subjects taught
Periodically reviewing lecture and instructional notes and related teaching materials
Providing tutorials and seminars to address learning gaps arising from lectures
Allocating consultation time and offering academic guidance to students requiring individual support
Preparing and issuing assignments and ensuring timely marking and feedback
Setting examinations in accordance with institutional requirements
Writing technical papers for presentation at scholarly forums and student seminars, both locally and internationally
Writing and publishing teaching manuals, notes, and books within the area of specialization
Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Library and Information Management, Library and Information Studies, or an equivalent qualification
Minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 5.0 or equivalent academic performance
Degree must be obtained from an accredited higher learning institution

Remuneration:

The position offers remuneration under salary scale PTSS 3.1.
