Senior Manager – Sales & Commercial

Role Overview
The Senior Manager will be accountable for achieving and exceeding all budgeted sales targets (Blusky) while operating within the approved selling expense budget. The role also focuses on maintaining and expanding the existing 4PL account portfolio through effective contract renewal strategies and commercial management of scope changes.
This position plays a central role in driving structured sales governance, strengthening pipeline health, and ensuring commercial excellence across the sales lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership & Process Management
- Lead and facilitate end-to-end sales processes including account planning, forecasting, and opportunity management.
- Oversee bidding, contract negotiation, and contract closure.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks within the sales cycle.
- Develop and maintain documentation of sales processes and frameworks.
- Support onboarding and capability development of new sales team members.
2. Pipeline & Performance Management
- Track and analyze key performance indicators:
- Pipeline growth
- Win/loss ratios
- Renewals
- Quota attainment
- Monitor sales performance alongside individual performance metrics.
- Implement structured recognition and incentive alignment where required.
3. Business Development & Market Growth
- Capture and qualify leads from internal and external sources.
- Work closely with Business Development Executives/Directors and central BD teams.
- Develop and execute Go-to-Market strategies to drive revenue and market share growth.
- Lead solution-selling initiatives across the company’s capabilities.
- Integrate “voice of customer” insights into product and service development.
4. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary Sales Capability escalation point.
- Resolve key client issues and commercial challenges.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions, providing market intelligence and customer feedback.
- Translate customer pain points into industry opportunities and intuitive client journeys.

Qualifications
- University Degree in Sales, Marketing, Logistics, or Engineering
- Postgraduate Diploma
- Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred)
Experience & Skills Required
- 8–10 years of proven performance in Sales and Commercial leadership
- Demonstrated experience responding to RFQs, structuring complex deals, and closing contracts
- Strong track record in developing and executing Go-to-Market strategies
- Multi-country logistics industry experience within Sub-Saharan Africa
- Advanced commercial acumen and negotiation capability
- Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
