Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Research Officer to oversee delegated study phases in compliance with approved protocols and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles. The role ensures high-quality data generation, documentation, reporting, and timely delivery of study outputs to sponsor satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure study procedures are implemented according to approved protocols and SOPs
• Report and document deviations from study plans and take corrective actions
• Participate in study protocol development and respond to review comments
• Support planning and coordination of study experiments
• Assist in preparation of final study reports and ensure data validity under GLP standards
• Prepare and present technical reports (oral and written) to partners and management
• Ensure all raw data is properly recorded and documented
• Confirm validation of computerized systems and calibration of equipment
• Ensure proper archiving of study plans, reports, raw data, and supporting materials
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Microbiology or related field
Experience & Skills
• Experience in data analysis using STATA
• Experience in laboratory experiments, particularly Phase I studies
• Knowledge of GLP conduct of experiments
• Strong communication and analytical skills
Language Requirements
• Fluency in English and Swahili (written and spoken)
