Jaza is a fast-growing clean energy company working to power Sub-Saharan Africa. The company builds solar-powered shops that charge batteries used by customers to power their homes. Since 2022, Jaza has completed over four million battery swaps, providing clean and affordable energy access to more than 225,000 people. Jaza employs women from local communities, known as Jaza Stars, to operate its services and drive economic empowerment.

Position Overview

The Regional Coordinator is a senior line management role responsible for overseeing regional operations and acting as the regional business owner. The position reports to the Senior Regional Coordinator and focuses on regional profitability, operational performance, and team leadership.

The role also includes responsibility for recruitment, training, and coaching of the regional team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage regional profit and loss through effective cost control and growth planning
  • Oversee regional inventory management and ensure compliance with inventory policies
  • Lead recruitment, training, and onboarding of Jaza Stars and Super Stars
  • Manage team performance through meetings, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Lead by example in demonstrating Jaza values and compliance with SOPs

Key Responsibilities

Regional Growth and Performance

  • Develop quarterly and monthly regional plans to achieve an average of 150 active customers per hub
  • Drive monthly recurring revenue targets and maintain ARPU above USD 2.9
  • Identify growth challenges and implement timely solutions

Operations and Inventory Management

  • Resolve service interruptions at hub level and handle customer complaints promptly
  • Control inventory overstock and maintain missing packs below 1 percent at regional level
  • Ensure lost packs remain at zero percent through strict inventory control processes
  • Implement and monitor inventory management procedures and pack memo systems

Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate with technicians to resolve technical issues and ensure hub uptime
  • Assign urgent technical issues to technicians to avoid service interruptions
  • Support technicians with transport and operational resources

Team Leadership and Customer Experience

  • Reinforce and coach Jaza Stars, Super Stars, Inventory Stars, and Technicians on required competencies
  • Support hub teams in resolving customer charging and service issues
  • Ensure a high-quality customer experience across all hubs

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities
  • Represent the company in local administrative and legal matters

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in team leadership roles, preferably in energy, FMCG, or related sectors
  • Strong understanding of operations, inventory management, logistics, and customer service
  • Experience implementing operational procedures and ensuring policy compliance
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong profit and loss management and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic growth plans
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth
  • Strong customer focus and relationship management skills
  • Data analysis and decision-making capability
