Applications are invited from ambitious, energetic and performance-driven individuals to fill the position of Machine Operator (Truck) in the Open Pit Mining Department.
Selected candidates will undergo practical training and assessment before being confirmed as qualified operators.
Purpose of the Role
The Multiskilled Operator (Truck) will operate heavy mining equipment to support mining operations safely and efficiently.
Candidates must first complete practical training and pass competency assessments before appointment.
The role involves operating trucks and related heavy equipment, performing routine inspections, ensuring safety compliance and delivering work according to production plans.
Appointment is subject to successful training completion and medical fitness certification.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum Certificate of Secondary School Education (CSEE) – Advantage
- Valid Tanzania Driver’s License Class B & D or higher
Technical Requirements:
- Basic technical knowledge of trucks and heavy equipment
- Operator certificate from a recognized technical training institution
- Experience in mining or construction projects (2–3 years or more will be an advantage)
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a site practical test before appointment as trainee
- Must pass medical examination conducted by an authorized medical practitioner
- Must possess NIDA ID or NIDA Number
- Must have a TIN Number from the Tanzania Revenue Authority
- Must submit an introduction letter from local government authority
- Must provide letters from two referees
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to operate heavy mining equipment.
Key Accountabilities
- Follow training instructions from qualified trainers and supervisors
- Operate trucks and heavy equipment safely and professionally
- Conduct pre-start safety checks before operating equipment
- Report equipment faults to supervisors promptly
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production instructions
- Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others
- Work proactively as a team member within the mining department
Safety compliance and operational discipline are mandatory at all times.

- Fluency in Kiswahili or English (or both)
