Azura Beach Club is seeking a qualified and proactive Assistant Property & Facilities Manager to support the management and maintenance of its properties in Dar es Salaam. This operational role is ideal for a facilities or property management professional with experience coordinating maintenance activities, supervising contractors, and ensuring buildings remain safe, efficient, and well maintained.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Property & Facilities Manager to oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor service providers, maintain asset records, and deliver high-quality facilities services to tenants while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities

Assist in planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Conduct routine building inspections and prepare inspection reports.

Monitor maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of work orders.

Supervise maintenance technicians, building managers, and contractors.

Obtain quotations for routine maintenance and minor works.

Inspect completed works and verify quality before recommending payments.

Monitor cleaning, security, landscaping, pest control, and waste management services.

Assist in monitoring electricity and water consumption.

Respond to emergency maintenance issues outside normal working hours when required.

Maintain maintenance records, asset registers, and service histories.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire protection requirements.

Support the preparation of annual maintenance budgets and capital replacement plans.

Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance performance reports.

Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs while maintaining service quality.

Perform other duties assigned by the Property & Facilities Manager.
Qualifications Required
-
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Property Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or property operations.

Experience supervising contractors and maintenance personnel is preferred.

Good understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generator, lift, and water systems.

Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience using maintenance management software is an added advantage.

Ability to prepare reports and analyze maintenance costs.

Good written and spoken English; knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.

Honest, trustworthy, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
