TRA United Football Club Vacancy 2026: Chief Executive Officer

TRA United Football Club, a football club owned by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and participating in Tanzania's Premier League, is inviting applications from qualified, dynamic and ethical professionals for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The club is registered under the National Sports Council Act (Cap. 49) with registration number NSC 9545. Its objectives include promoting voluntary tax compliance, providing tax education, developing sporting talent and strengthening corporate social responsibility through football.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for providing strategic, administrative and commercial leadership to the football club.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and supervising the daily activities of the club.

  • Defining and implementing the club's long-term vision, mission and strategic objectives.

  • Ensuring compliance with FIFA, CAF, TFF and league regulations, as well as government requirements.

  • Supervising sporting matters, including player recruitment, transfers, contracts and youth academy development.

  • Supporting the coaching staff in building and maintaining a competitive team.

  • Managing the club's budget and ensuring financial accountability and stability.

  • Driving brand growth, marketing activities and expansion of the club's fan base.

  • Developing fan-engagement initiatives through community programmes and digital platforms.

  • Securing and managing strategic partnerships, sponsorships and community relationships.

  • Ensuring alignment between sporting objectives and commercial goals.

  • Representing the club before national and international football governing bodies.

  • Developing revenue streams through sponsorships, partnerships, broadcasting rights and merchandising.

  • Building the TRA United brand locally and internationally.

  • Securing and maintaining corporate sponsorships.

  • Reporting regularly to the Board on the club's performance, challenges and strategic matters in consultation with the Chairperson.

  • Upholding transparency, accountability and ethical standards.

  • Acting as the official representative of the club to the media, sponsors and football authorities.

  • Building strong relationships with supporters, community leaders and government institutions.

  • Promoting the club's image and managing its reputation.

  • Performing any other related duties as assigned by the relevant authority.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants for the Chief Executive Officer position should meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Management, Leadership, Sports Management or another relevant field.

  • Candidates with another degree may also be considered if they possess sufficient experience in football management.

  • At least 5 years of experience in football administrative leadership.

  • At least 3 years of senior management experience.

  • Proven experience in sports administration, commercial management or leadership of large organizations.

  • Strong understanding of Tanzanian football governance.

  • Good knowledge of NBC Premier League regulations and sports law.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong stakeholder-management abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational transformation.

  • Proven ability to achieve measurable organizational results.

  • Strong ethical standards, leadership ability and professional judgement.

Salary and Remuneration

The salary and remuneration package for the Chief Executive Officer position is negotiable.
