Job Description

Sponsorship Coordinator at World Vision

World Vision is seeking an experienced development professional for the position of Sponsorship Coordinator based in Dar es Salaam. This regional role provides strategic support and technical leadership in implementing World Vision’s child sponsorship priorities, ensuring high-quality sponsorship systems, operational excellence, data management, and organizational capacity across the region.

The successful candidate will work closely with Regional Offices, National Offices, and the Global Centre to strengthen sponsorship management, improve child participation, support quality assurance, build staff capacity, and enhance sponsorship business processes that contribute to improved child wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and strategic leadership on sponsorship implementation across the region.

  • Support the development of sponsorship guidance, tools, policies, standards, and business processes.

  • Assist Field Offices in establishing systems that ensure compliance with sponsorship policies and standards.

  • Monitor implementation of sponsorship standards and engage Regional and Field Office leadership on areas requiring intervention.

  • Lead regional initiatives that strengthen child participation and improve sponsorship quality.

  • Coordinate sponsorship business processes and sponsor engagement activities.

  • Conduct regional sponsorship data analysis to support strategic planning and business process improvement.

  • Prepare analytical reports to support leadership decision-making.

  • Coordinate operational and performance review processes across the region.

  • Support planning, budgeting, and performance feedback related to sponsorship operations.

  • Collaborate with technical teams including DME, LEAP, CESP, Child Protection, Education, Health, Gender, and Micro-enterprise Development.

  • Provide technical leadership to National Office sponsorship teams.

  • Build capacity within National Offices on sponsorship operations and business processes.

  • Guide implementation of sponsorship capacity-building frameworks and global learning initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to establish peer coaching support teams across the region.

  • Promote and implement promising sponsorship practices across National Offices.

  • Provide recommendations and learning to the Global Centre for continuous improvement.

  • Share updates on global sponsorship developments and coordinate National Office participation in partnership initiatives.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Degree in Management, Social Sciences, or another relevant field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in development work.

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience at country level.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising or managing sponsorship at country or cluster level.

  • In-depth understanding of Child Sponsorship and its contribution to child wellbeing.

  • Demonstrated experience in sponsorship business processes and systems.

  • Strong understanding of development programme approaches.

  • Field Office experience in Child Sponsorship and/or development projects.

  • Demonstrated community and staff facilitation skills.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
