  • Report mechanical defects and safety concerns to the Fleet or Workshop team.

  • Keep assigned vehicles clean and in good operating condition.

  • Ensure vehicle documentation and safety equipment are valid before starting trips.

  • Comply with Tanzanian traffic laws and applicable regional transport regulations.

  • Observe prescribed driving hours, rest periods, and fatigue-management procedures.

  • Wear seat belts and required PPE.

  • Report accidents, near misses, security incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites, ports, border points, and delivery locations.

  • Maintain professional communication with customers and the public.

  • Protect company, customer, and cargo information.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Age between 25 and 50 years.

  • Valid Class E Driving Licence.

  • Relevant professional driver training or certification from VETA and/or the National Institute of Transport (NIT).

  • Valid passport and willingness to undertake cross-border assignments.

  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian roads and major regional transport corridors.

  • Clean driving record without serious traffic offences.

  • Ability to work independently and spend extended periods away from home.

  • Minimum 3 years of proven professional experience as a heavy truck driver in commercial transport, haulage, or logistics.

  • Demonstrable long-distance heavy truck driving experience.

  • Experience transporting oversized, abnormal, bulky, containerized, or heavy cargo.

  • Experience operating tractor heads, trailers, flatbeds, lowbeds, interlinks, or heavy-duty combinations.

  • Excellent defensive driving and route-awareness skills.

  • High level of safety consciousness, reliability, and punctuality.
