Syrup Room Operator

SBC Tanzania Ltd. (Pepsi) is seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Syrup Room Operator in Mbeya. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing syrup accurately and on time to support beverage production at the Mbeya Plant while maintaining the company’s quality, hygiene, and operational standards.

The role requires practical knowledge of microbiological and chemical testing, syrup-making processes, equipment operation, and cleaning procedures. It is suitable for candidates with a Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field and at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control machines and equipment in the syrup room.

• Prepare syrup accurately and within the required production timelines.

  

• Perform Cleaning in Place (CIP) according to the approved CIP Matrix and company requirements.

• Accurately record and report information related to syrup preparation and production activities.

  

• Order required concentrates on time to avoid interruptions to production.

• Immediately report any failures, abnormalities, or problems affecting syrup production.

  

• Clean syrup room equipment and processing areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Replenish processing areas and ensure syrup room equipment is maintained appropriately.

  

• Follow company quality and operational standards during syrup preparation.

• Work effectively with production and other relevant teams.

• Maintain professional interaction with colleagues and support teamwork.

• Perform assigned duties independently while coordinating with other team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.

• At least 1 year of experience in a related field.

• Knowledge of microbiological testing.

• Knowledge of chemical testing and standardization methods.

• Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.

• Good spoken and written English.

• Ability to follow production, quality, hygiene, and safety procedures.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
