Senior Fleet and Transportation Operations Manager

The successful candidate will lead fleet and transportation operations by developing strategic plans, improving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing high-performing teams. The role requires a proactive leader capable of driving business growth while maintaining the highest standards of safety, performance, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for fleet and transportation operations to achieve business objectives.

• Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and utilization.

  

• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

• Lead, mentor, and manage operations teams to foster accountability and high performance.

• Monitor operational performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency.

• Manage fleet operation budgets, cost control measures, and resource allocation.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate logistics for projects within the extractive and energy sectors.

• Utilize CRM systems and digital tools to improve fleet tracking, reporting, and customer relationship management.

• Prepare and present operational reports highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities.

• Stay informed on industry trends, transportation policies, and market developments to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of five (5) years of senior management experience within the transportation or logistics industry.

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and business development.

• Strong leadership, people management, and cross-cultural communication skills.

• Proficiency in CRM systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.

• Fluency in both English and Swahili.

• Comprehensive understanding of the Tanzanian transportation industry, including relevant policies and market dynamics.
