DHL is seeking a Depot Clerk to join its warehouse operations team in Dar es Salaam. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with warehouse and inventory management experience who are committed to maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring timely dispatches, and delivering excellent customer service while adhering to safety and operational standards.
As a Depot Clerk, you will support day-to-day warehouse operations by receiving, storing, dispatching, and tracking inventory. The role requires close attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment while ensuring compliance with DHL's quality, safety, and service standards.
Responsibilities

Receive and accurately store stock from the main warehouse, suppliers, other depots, or clients according to established procedures.

Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of stock in accordance with approved operational procedures.

Maintain accurate inventory records through proper system posting and timely stock reconciliations.

Conduct regular stock counts and report inventory variances before monthly stock-taking.

Ensure all receiving and dispatch activities are recorded in the warehouse management system (SAGE).

Mark receipt and dispatch dates on stock to support the First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory method.

Organize warehouse stock by item, maintain proper labeling, and ensure goods are stored in designated locations.

Perform receiving and dispatch activities in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse and office areas.

Monitor stock, forklifts (FLTs), and warehouse assets to prevent damage and promptly report any incidents.

Guide casual workers and ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational policies.

Report equipment faults, warehouse maintenance needs, and operational issues to the supervisor.

Ensure compliance with all warehouse safety, security, and operational procedures.

Deliver quality service to clients while supporting continuous operational improvement.
Qualifications Required

Secondary School Education.

Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swahili.

Computer literacy, including proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing applications.

IT literacy and ability to use warehouse management systems.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a busy warehouse environment.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a multi-functional warehouse.

Good customer service and interpersonal skills.

Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a telecommunications SKU warehouse.

Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a busy multiple-SKU warehouse.

Strong teamwork and customer relationship management skills.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform with minimal supervision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
