Fraud Analyst at Tanzania Empowerment Forum Limited (TEF Consult)

Tanzania Empowerment Forum Limited (TEF Consult) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Fraud Analyst in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will monitor fraud alerts related to M-PESA and GSM services, investigate suspicious activities, respond to alerts within established service levels, and support fraud investigations when required. About the Role

The Fraud Analyst will play an important role in detecting and preventing fraudulent activities through continuous monitoring of fraud alerting systems. The position requires quick analysis of suspicious transactions, appropriate escalation of cases, and accurate documentation to help minimize potential financial losses.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor real-time data and fraud alerts to identify suspicious activities.
• Respond to fraud alerts within established service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct initial analysis of fraud alerts and incidents using fraud management tools.
• Document investigation findings accurately and completely.
• Escalate suspicious cases to the relevant Fraud Analyst, Manager, or investigation team.
• Perform initial checks and take immediate action to minimize potential financial losses.
• Assist with preparing information required for regulatory fraud investigations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism throughout all fraud monitoring activities.

Qualifications Required

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree.
• Qualification in Information Technology or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least one year of progressive experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at different levels.
• High level of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work night shifts and within a 24/7 shift environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
