Administrator: Capacity Enterprise and Monitoring at Road Accident Fund

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is inviting applications for the position of Administrator: Capacity Enterprise and Monitoring based in Centurion, Gauteng. This permanent opportunity is suited to an ICT professional with experience in enterprise systems, cloud environments, monitoring, capacity support, systems administration, and operational reporting.

Reporting to the Manager: Capability Planning and Continuity Services, the successful candidate will provide day-to-day capacity, enterprise, and cloud monitoring support within the ICT environment. The role contributes to service levels, system performance, reliability, availability, and continuity across enterprise and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

• Support capacity management activities across enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and IT components.
• Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining approved monitoring tools, agents, and cloud monitoring dashboards.
• Monitor system and cloud service performance, utilisation, event logs, and alerts.
• Escalate performance or operational issues when required.
• Capture and maintain accurate capacity and performance information for storage, servers, networks, and cloud environments.
• Conduct routine system and cloud platform checks and support approved tuning activities.
• Assist with basic corrective actions in accordance with approved procedures.
• Contribute to capacity tracking, cloud utilisation analysis, and operational reporting.
• Set up and maintain user and service accounts as instructed.
• Support system software and cloud administration activities.
• Collect and maintain information on business, system, and cloud service requirements that may influence capacity demand.
• Assist with capacity trend analysis, baseline updates, and routine forecasting across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Provide administrative and technical support for capacity management and cloud monitoring tools.
• Consolidate capacity information from ICT, cloud service, business, and project teams.
• Ensure capacity information is available for project, operational, and cloud resource planning.
• Monitor enterprise system and cloud performance.
• Prepare system activity, monitoring, cloud utilisation, and capacity reports.
• Maintain supporting documentation and operational records.
• Conduct or support infrastructure and cloud risk analysis and system reviews.
• Support cost-benefit analysis relating to infrastructure and cloud resources.
• Analyse the impact of component and cloud service failures.
• Provide input into management briefings, presentations, and reports.
• Maintain effective working relationships with infrastructure, application, and cloud service teams.
• Respond to routine stakeholder queries regarding capacity, operations, and cloud monitoring.
• Support communication and coordination on service availability and cloud-related matters.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
• ITIL 4 Foundation or another relevant operational framework qualification.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals will be an advantage.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner will be an advantage.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in ICT enterprise systems, cloud environments, systems administration, monitoring, reporting, or capacity support within a multi-user environment.
• Basic knowledge of cloud, virtualisation, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of capacity, performance, and cloud monitoring tools.
• Understanding of cloud service availability, utilisation, performance, and operational reporting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and cloud service issues.
• Good analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to research and understand technical documentation.
• Awareness of current and emerging ICT and cloud trends.
• Understanding of how to apply technical resources within enterprise and cloud environments.
• Strong planning, organising, and coordination skills.
• Good judgement and decision-making ability.
• Strong client service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of self-motivation and professional integrity.
