Professional Nurse General grade 1-3

Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital, under the Gauteng Department of Health, is inviting qualified Professional Nurses to apply for six permanent vacancies. This opportunity is open to registered General Nurses who meet the South African Nursing Council (SANC) requirements and are committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

The successful candidates will join the hospital’s Nursing Directorate and provide professional nursing services in accordance with applicable legislation, hospital policies, and SANC standards. Salary will be determined according to the Occupational Specific Dispensation (OSD) based on experience and grade.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide safe, therapeutic, and holistic nursing care to patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and perform standard nursing procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
• Implement nursing care in line with hospital policies and standard operating procedures.
• Apply HAST and other relevant clinical guidelines to ensure quality patient care.
• Promote patient rights and uphold Batho Pele principles.
• Ensure compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
• Manage the unit as shift leader in the absence of the Operational Manager.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Control and manage scheduled medicines in accordance with regulations.
• Work both day and night shifts as required.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications Required:

• Basic R425 qualification (Degree or Diploma in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional/General Nurse.
• Valid SANC Registration Certificate.
• Proof of current SANC registration (annual receipt/card).
• Ability to provide professional nursing care within a multidisciplinary team.

Salary Package:

• Grade 1: R337,359 – R379,392 per annum plus benefits
• Grade 2: R411,978 – R485,289 per annum plus benefits
• Grade 3: R595,423 – R635,088 per annum plus benefits
