Supplies Coordinator at Kenya Airways PLC

Kenya Airways PLC is seeking a qualified and experienced Supplies Coordinator to manage aircraft spares and tools within its warehouse. The successful candidate will ensure that aviation materials are securely stored, properly handled, accurately recorded, and issued in line with airworthiness requirements and Kenya Airways quality standards.

The role involves inventory management, receiving and inspecting shipments, coordinating material distribution, maintaining warehouse security, and ensuring compliance with aviation and safety requirements. The successful candidate should have strong supply chain or logistics knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a shift-based warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure proper warehousing and handling of aircraft spares and tools in accordance with airworthiness requirements and company quality standards.
• Issue aircraft spares and tools as required to support Kenya Airways and other operators.
• Maintain secure access to the stockroom in line with Maintenance Organization Exposition procedures.
• Monitor warehouse inventory levels and use systems such as OASES to track stock and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain stock accuracy of at least 98%.
• Oversee the receipt of incoming shipments and verify quantities, defects, quality requirements, and purchase order details.
• Organize aircraft materials efficiently within the warehouse using appropriate shelving, labelling, and storage systems.
• Coordinate the allocation and distribution of materials to users and warehouses according to demand and production schedules.
• Ensure the availability of required spares and tools for Kenya Airways and contracted airlines.
• Ensure warehouse operations comply with safety regulations and OEM requirements, including appropriate handling of materials and adherence to MSDS guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, orders, and shipments.
• Prepare reports to monitor inventory trends and support operational decision-making.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Support efforts to reduce operational costs and improve overall warehouse efficiency.
• Liaise effectively with procurement, material planning, engineering, and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications required:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• A Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Management combined with five years of aviation experience may also be considered.
• In-depth knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar warehouse role.
• General knowledge of logistics, warehousing procedures, and applicable statutory regulations.
• Knowledge of KCAA, EASA, and company requirements is preferred.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in MRP systems.
• Training in the handling of Dangerous Goods is an added advantage.
• Forklift certification or the ability to successfully complete forklift training and safely operate the machinery is an added advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail when managing inventory, records, and transactions.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain efficient warehouse operations.
• Good problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies, shipment issues, and operational challenges.
• Strong safety awareness when handling and storing materials.
• Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and coordinate warehouse activities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
• Willingness and ability to work on a shift schedule.
